WHY ISLAM HUB – GDPR / Data Protection Rights
Your Rights Under GDPR
You have certain rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) regarding how your personal data is collected, used, stored, and processed. At Why Islam Hub, we respect and support those rights. Below is a summary of what you can request and how we handle your requests.
1. Right to Access
You have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you. We will provide a copy of that data in a commonly used electronic format, free of charge, within one month of your request (unless the request is complex).
2. Right to Rectification
If you believe any of the personal data we hold is inaccurate or incomplete, you may ask us to correct or complete it.
3. Right to Erasure (“Right to be Forgotten”)
Under certain conditions, you have the right to request that we delete your personal data. This may apply if the data is no longer needed, or if you withdraw consent and there is no other legal basis for processing.
4. Right to Restrict Processing
You may ask us to limit the processing of your data while a dispute about its accuracy is resolved, or under other legal circumstances.
5. Right to Data Portability
You can request that your personal data be transferred to another data controller in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format — when technically feasible.
6. Right to Object
You have the right to object to certain types of processing (e.g. direct marketing) where applicable. If you do so, we will stop processing your data unless we have compelling legitimate grounds.
7. Right to Withdraw Consent
Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing done before the withdrawal.
8. Right to Lodge a Complaint
If you believe your data protection rights have been violated, you may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your country (for example, in the EU, your country’s Data Protection Authority).
How to Submit a Request
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us via the contact form or email address provided in our Privacy Policy.
When making a request, we may require proof of identity before fulfilling your request, to ensure data security. We aim to respond to all valid requests within one month, or up to three months if the request is complex.
How We Handle Your Data
- We will always act lawfully, fairly, and in a transparent manner when collecting and processing your data.
- We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
- We will not retain your personal information longer than necessary for the purposes for which it was collected or as required by law.
- We do not share your data with third parties except for trusted service providers or legal obligations, and only to the extent necessary.
